Officially DONE!!!!

Well it is official... I am done my final year of university and I couldn't be happier! My last final was on Thursday and I was so relieved to have them done. I still kind of feel like I'm supposed to go to class tomorrow and found myself checking to see if I had anything due and then remembered that I am DONE! Did I mention I'm done taking classes... hopefully forever :)
This weekend we got to do some celebrating too! Our education program put on a celebration party last night, which was a lot of fun! We had a delicious dinner of roast beef, chicken, carrots, salads, buns and desserts. Then we had a little program and got pictures with all the friends we've made over the last 2 years and Dust and I headed home.

Here's Robin, her man Chris, Dust and I
Dr. Joanne Neal... hands down my favorite professor EVER!

Section B of the Education Students! We're the BEST!

Robin, Britt and I dancing with some of the grad-dressed A's :)
I am excited when I think about having my own class to teach and have been lucky to have already been shown some interests in a couple of places. I feel very blessed to have made some connections from back home and hopefully they'll help me land a job or at least get high on the sub list for next year! I'm not positive of what Dust and I will be doing or where we will be, but I'm sure it'll be great!

5. My favorite comfort foods and why?

Well during finals I had many comfort foods (anything and everything in front of me), but one that has been pretty consistent lately has been plain yogurt mixed with a little splenda, little vanilla and frozen blueberries... mmmmm delicious and healthy too.
One of my other main comfort foods is definitely popcorn with butter and salt... Every Sunday it is tradition for us to eat popcorn and drink our pops back home and Dust and I have carried on that tradition and I love it! I wish I could do it every night, but I have a feeling I'd feel pretty sick if that was the case.

Just the Cutest

Well this weekend has amounted to studying, napping, and working... bring on the finals!.. I officially am DONE classes and have 4 exams Mon-Thurs next week, one on each day. It's going to be an intense few days, but when it's done, I will be so incredibly happy and relieved!

Today, I got up early to get ready for work and it was an insane day there! We had brides and bridesmaids all over the place. I barely got away for lunch and decided to head to booster juice for my favorite drink, Breezy Banana with soy protein. I pulled up to Booster Juice and reached into my purse to grab my wallet... nothing... crap... then depression. Luckily I have some amazingly nice co-workers who caught on to my lack of eating during lunch and offered to share bits and pieces of their own lunch. I gratefully accepted :)

When I came home from work, Dust had dinner planned... quesadillas! So I cooked the chicken and sauteed some mushroom and peppers while Dustin cut the veggies. He was set on making some guacamole for some reason too, so away he went. They were delicious.
After dinner, he sent me away and said he had a surprise and once I was able to come out.. this is what I found with a note saying how proud he was of me for finishing classes and how much he loves me! I have the BEST hubby!!
4. My views on religion:

Religion is an interesting topic and often can erupt into an intense and sometimes argumentative conversation. I believe that religion can be a foundation in an every changing world that surrounds us with evils and temptation. I believe there is some truth in every religion and that there is nothing wrong with experiencing or learning others beliefs. I have done this in my life with friends I have made and have found that it has only helped me understand their own values and has also helped strengthen my own testimony. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the church I attend and it has brought stability, comfort, direction, love, peace, and true joy into my life along with many other things. I have seen it bless others lives and have been amazed how ones heart can change once they have found the truth. I love God's plan and love the people He has put in my life to help me achieve the things He has planned for me to do on this Earth. I think that religion is not just something you practice, but it is the way we live. I am so thankful that I was able to grow up in the church and that I have been surrounded by so many great examples of how to live a Christ-like life. I have made many mistakes, but that is why we have the atonement and I know that if we humble ourselves and turn our hearts and minds toward God, we will make it back to Him someday :) What an amazing and comforting thought that is!

Burning Throat and the #5 On My Mind

Well today was pretty good! We had quite the weekend and when I woke up this morning, I could feel the fun of the weekend had caught up to me. I thought of a 100 different excuses as to why I just could not go to class today, but as I laid in bed while pushing snooze 5 times, I realized 'Hey Kris, you only have 5 more days of school!!! One class and 4 exams... so I decided to suck it up and head to class. We did lots of review for our science and social final and got out a little early.
I did some grocery shopping and had a little unexpected nap. Went and helped Robin try on her wedding dress, which looks absolutely stunning. I may have even shed a few tears of happiness cuz she looks so darn beautiful and she just lights up when she puts it on! Then Kenzie called and invited Dust and I to go run some bleachers at U of A.
Of course we were extremely pumped for this :) We worked our butts off and by the end my throat and legs were burning! It felt great and it's free to go there, so I told them we should to go together 2-3 times a week. Kenz and I decided to run some laps after, which felt great cuz it loosened some of the muscles. Just starting my TRAINING FOR THE RAYMOND ROAD RACE 10KM... cough cough dad cough :) haha

Today I am thankful for school. I know, you never thought you'd hear it, but I figure now that I'm almost done, I can put it out there. I actually really do enjoy learning! Especially when it's on a topic that I'm interested in!! I have especially enjoyed being in the education program where I have made some amazing and lifelong friends! It's kind of nice to only have to go to school for 4 hours of my day and spend the rest doing what I please. I will NOT miss the homework and especially studying for exams, stress of exams or writing essays!! It has been a great 6 years, but it is time for me to move on to the real world and start making some $$$ rather than spending it to sit in a chair while being lectured to. I will definitely miss parts of it, but I'm excited for the future and what it will bring!

3. My top 5 pet peeves:
Hmmm well one would be stupid drivers. It drives me insane when I'm driving on the highway and there's a car in each lane and they're driving the same dang speed. Get the heck over ya fool!!!
Next... when people put the toilet paper in backwards... I like it facing down and it drives me crazy when it's the other way!
It kind of bugs me when peoples tags are hanging out of their shirts or if some has a random piece of hair clung to their clothing. Takes everything in my power to not try to get it off without them knowing :)
Slow drivers... like extremely slow drivers.. at least go the speed limit!
People that are nice as can be to your face, but completely bash you behind your back. Just be real!

Easter Fun

Well it's been a great weekend at home for Easter! On Saturday, Dust and I went and looked at some houses in Lethbridge to buy in the fall. We found one we REALLY like! It's brand new, but has an unfinished basement, which is kind of fun cuz we can do it however we want. We're planning on renting the basement out, so we'll see what happens with that.
On Sunday we had dinner with the Hartley fam in Stirling and then headed back out to the Sheen's to watch a movie and have some chips and dip. I'm pretty sure I've gained 10 pounds from being home this weekend... depressing, but so worth it! haha Then today we had a delicious breakfast and went on a horse ride before we left. I'm getting a lot more comfortable on horses. I even climbed a hill and galloped a bit on Shania! It was a lot of fun! I did almost fall off my horse though... haha. We were coming back down this steep hill so I was trying to lean back and apparently Shania lost a few pounds going up the hill cuz all of a sudden my saddle was quickly shifting down the left side of Shania and I could not, for the life of me, get either of my feet out of the stirrups, so my knight in shining armor came and saved the day. I could not stop laughing and poor Shania had no idea what I was doing haha

We had beautiful weather and both Dustin and I can't wait for the nice weather to continue! We're on out way back to Edmonton now. I have two more classes and 4 exams and then I am DONE school FOREVER!! woot woot!

2: Where do I see myself in 10 years?
Well let's see here. Hopefully have 3 kids and settled in our own house somewhere in southern AB. Maybe be coaching an all-star team. We still haven't taken the challenge of figuring out where we're gonna end up. I'm secretly hoping it's Raymond and I'm sure Dustin is hoping it's Cardston. We have talked about making our own town called Rayston where all the wicked awesome athletes all go to. We figure if we can recruit all of our siblings to move there with their families and then get some of our friends with athletic kids to come too. I think it's a brilliant idea :) The colors will still be red and white of course cuz we will take red from Raymond and white from Cardston :) hehe Hopefully Dustin hopefully will be settled in a good job and we'll be continuing our happy life together!!!

He He... Made Ya Wait :)

Ok, ok, ok.. I know I said I was going to blog sooner, but this girl is busy okay!?!? Here we go... today was fantastic! I drove home yesterday for Easter weekend and have been spending my days with my amazing fam! Cars, Kait and I stayed up late last night watching 'Criminal Minds' just enough to freak us out before bed. It didn't help that Cars got 'funny' and decided to come scare us once we were in a beds.. butt face :)

Then today we all slept in... well except mom who is a trooper and got up to go for a run with Auntie Sue. We slowly rolled out of bed and ate a delicious breakfast, skyped with our favorite skyping crew, the Tolmans, then Cars headed out to gopher hunt a lil and Kait and I went for a 4 mile run while mom biked beside us. That's right people... 4 miles. Neither of us thought we'd run more than a mile, but once we got going, we were unstoppable :) It felt great and we found out that Land and I actually run a pretty good pace together :)

Dad got home from work shortly after and we headed back out to hunt some pesty gophers. We all had a great time... well except for maybe Kait's first attempt to shoot a gopher HAHA She couldn't find the gopher in the scope for like 5 minutes while we were all trying to give her advice and support until dad lost a little patience and got her attention. Finally... after we all turned 100 years old, she found the gopher and gave it a shot. Then she wouldn't put the gun away haha. Kait definitely got better and seemed to really enjoy her eagle eye shooting time :)
My hubby finally got here, which was very exciting. Then we had some chimichangas for dinner and settle down to decorate some Easter eggs!
We even made Maddie and Beckam and egg :)
After our Easter egg extravaganza, we watched a documentary on a horse whisperer, Buck, which was pretty fun and now it's bed time!!! Love family time!

Alright... Day 1: My current relationship...

Well this one's easy... I couldn't be happier. I have married an amazing man who couldn't be more perfect for me. He's patient, kind, thoughtful, hard working, funny and loves me more than anything! Of course, our relationship is not perfect, but we make sure that we put effort into talking about things that may be coming between us or little annoyances we may have. I feel so blessed to have a man that loves me and makes sure I know it on a daily basis. I'm excited about the future and look forward to continuing to grow closer and learn more about Dustin and enhancing our relationship together!

Little Reflection on... ME!!!

So I finished writing the last essay I will every have to write in my university education last night, so today requested to be a chill day in my books. Dustin was busy working on an assignment, so I decided to look through some pics and try to figure out how to print my blog into a book. I've been wanting to print my Korean blog off for a while, but just haven't made time to sit down and do it. As I was going through my blog, I decided to continue reading from the point I got home from Korea to now and I came across my 30 day challenge where I did a post daily and posted on a certain question or topic. As I was reading my posts I thought 'dang I'm insightful' haha.
No, but really.. it was neat to re-read some things I had written and reflected on and I thought it was a great way to stay positive and see the good in my days and life. So.... guess what I went searching for... that's right another 30 day challenge... here is the list...
